Juliet has practiced Yoga since 1990. She is the owner of the Papakura Yoga Centre in Auckland, which she established in 2001.
Here she leads a Team of experienced teachers who together create an environment of acceptance, accessibility and community. Her desire to learn more about Yoga led her to complete her initial Teacher Training with the NZ branch of the International Yoga Teachers Association in the late 1990s. Juliet went on to study extensively with Donna Farhi completing her Advanced Teacher Training and assisting her on workshops in NZ and Australia. Around this time she discovered Restorative Yoga and did several workshop trainings with Judith Lasater.
Yoga continues to be a learning practice for Juliet. Her curiosity about the human body and movement has led her in recent years to study with Katy Bowman, Jules Mitchell and Yoga Detour. This self development is reflected in her own practice and teaching - infusing both with a balance of natural human movement, somatic awareness, modern biomechanics integrated with the ancient wisdom of Yoga.
Juliet brings her passion for Yoga to her students. She encourages each person to meet themselves with complete acceptance whilst at the same time opening the pathways for transformation.
Janene began practicing Yoga in 1994. She completed her initial Teacher training in 2006. Since then she has taught at the Papakura Yoga centre.
Janene brings a high level of enthusiasm and attention to detail to her classes which her students appreciate and love her for.
In 2008 Janene completed an advanced teacher training with Donna Farhi. She continues to study with various teachers including recently Carrie Owerko and Yoga Detour. This ongoing self development deepens her own practice and understanding of Yoga, which she in turn shares with her students. She encourages her students to develop an inner awareness and acceptance of themselves enabling them to integrate Yoga into their daily life.
Jan has been practicing Yoga since 2005. She has completed a 200hr teacher training with RYS (Registered Yoga School of NZ) and is also a qualified Relax & Renew Teacher. In addition to this Jan has completed the Advanced Teacher Training with Donna Farhi.
Jan's determination to be the best she can be shows in her willingness to continue studying and looking for new ways to share yoga with her students.
Jan is a kind and caring person who always respects the individuals requirements. Her strength is her ability to communicate with people of all stages and ages in her classes.
Katia trained as a Hatha Yoga and Asthanga Yoga teacher in 2011. Through continuous studies, her curiosity guides her to specialise in creating space for her students to explore and learn about Yoga through mindful movement and supports them to be receptive to their own intelligent body feedback.
Nurturing her own two children led Katia to study prenatal, postnatal and children’s Yoga. As an experienced Primary school teacher (with an Honours degree in learning support) Katia worked with children for nine years and became convinced that young children need freedom of movement to experience concrete, meaningful learning experiences. She brings this wisdom to her children’s Yoga classes; where she facilitates a fun, safe, exploratory and creative Yoga class.
Katia also has a particular interest in Restorative Yoga; a practice designed to soothe the nervous system from the ever increasing demands of modern life.
Jessica began practicing Yoga in 2001 at the Silent Dance Centre in Honolulu. As an athlete she was initially attracted to the physical aspect of Yoga. She loved the strength and mobility she gained from the practice and came to also appreciate the sense of connectedness and vitality in her body that she had not previously experienced.
Jessica completed her initial Teacher Training in Vinyasa Flow in 2008 at Barefoot Movement in California. Since then she has been teaching in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Hawaii. In 2018 Jessica married a kiwi guy and they moved to NZ. She has been teaching Vinyasa Flow in NZ since.
Jessica loves sharing her joy of Yoga Flow; supporting others to Connect with their Body. Calm their Mind and Nourish their Spirit.
Note: Please note that due to other commitments Jessica is not teaching a regular class this year. She is available for as a "Sub" teacher when others are away.
